Objective: Conduct a comprehensive ITGC implementation or improvement project for a real (or realistically simulated) organization. This project brings together the full course learning.

Project Tasks:

  1. Stakeholder Interviews and Requirements Gathering:

    • Meet with stakeholders from different departments (IT, compliance, security, finance) to understand their specific needs and concerns regarding ITGC.

  2. Create ITGC Implementation Plan:

    • Develop a customized ITGC framework tailored to the organization’s needs, addressing key areas such as access control, change management, backup and recovery, and risk management.

  3. Implementation & Testing:

    • Implement the key components of ITGC in the organization, testing controls, documenting processes, and ensuring alignment with compliance standards.

  4. Deliverable:

    • A final implementation report detailing the ITGC framework, the implementation process, challenges encountered, and how the framework was tested and validated.
    • A presentation to the organization’s stakeholders, explaining how the new ITGC framework will strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance.
